I woke up yesterday feeling spenny… it’s a dangerous mood, particularly in lockdown when spending money online is just far too easy. On the list that day was a new jumper as I have been wearing two on rotation almost exclusively. It was time to add another to the collection.

But shopping online is such a maze. I was so overwhelmed that I ended up ordering seven jumpers in the hope I’d keep at least half. Here’s how I got on. For reference, everything is a size 12/medium with the exception of the & other stories one which is a small.

ASOS DESIGN Petite oversized jumper in brushed yarn in sage*

This one was a gamble as it isn’t my usual colour and it didn’t really pay off. It’s petite so I expected it to be short (which it wasn’t) but I didn’t expect the sleeves to also be short. I don’t think this was a total fail though as it did affirm that green isn’t my colour.

& Other Stories pointelle frill neck fluffy jumper in blue*

I adore this jumper. The frilly neck and semi-fitted look is right up my street. But… and it’s a BIG but… it’s so itchy! I feel like fire ants are biting me if I wear it. I have sensitive skin and can’t wear wool which is in a lot of &OS jumpers. Such a shame as it is lovely. I hope one of you can wear it and live out my blue sweater dreams for me!

Bershka oversized cardigan in baby blue*

This was described as baby blue but it’s actually a bluish/lavender/lilac depending on the light. This one was slightly itchy but not too bad. I love the style so I’m on the fence about it.

ASOS DESIGN boxy jumper with volume sleeve and rib cuffs in light pink*

OK I’m obsessed. LOOK AT THE SLEEVES! Eurgh I can’t deal. It’s also super soft and not itchy at all so this is a 100% keep.

Free People Stevie button down cardigan*

I swear this looked nice on the model but in real life the lime green looked awful on me. The orange version was a bit better but even that didn’t save this cardigan. The sleeves were super long and it felt really rough. Not even itchy just a bit like wearing sandpaper.

Topshop statement sleeve jumper in blue*

Finally there is this baby blue jumper which I’m also on the fence about. I feel like I need to try it in the size small as it felt a bit too oversized as these sleeves are massive. The colour is lush though and it’s really soft so at least I have one blue one in my wardrobe.

And that’s the lot. I hope you enjoyed this little round up and it was useful to see them not on a model. Are there any other try-on hauls you’d like me to do?
