Merry Makes Craft Club | Christmas Sprout Garland

The first meeting of the Merry Makes craft club was on Monday evening and it was so much fun! A few of us met up at mine and we made these adorable pompom sprout baubles. They are such a cute and easy craft I just had to share them with you.

For the Sprout Decoration you need:

  • Green wool
  • Googly eyes
  • Red felt
  • Twine (optional)
  • Cardboard/pompom maker
  • Mini pompom
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue

If you haven’t made pompoms before here are the steps you’ll need to follow.

Draw two circles around a highball glass onto sturdy cardboard. Cut both out. Now cut a hole in the middle roughly the size of a 10p coin.

Take strands of wool and wrap them around both pieces of cardboard until it gets difficult to pass the wool through the centre.

Snip the wool all the way around the edge of the circle.

Separate the two pieces of cardboard and tie a piece of wool or twine around the centre to hold all the strands in place. If you are making a bauble tie the ends to

Cut the cardboard to remove. Fluff it up and trim off any excess.

Now glue your decorations on. We made little Santa hats by folding a semi circle of fabric in half and sewing up the straight edge. We then added a twine trim and mini pompom to the top. You could add a bow or a party hat instead if you preferred.

I hope you like these makes. If you have a go please do tag me a picture on instagram @thestitchedit. I’d love to see what you create!
